Welded diff, all, center, rear, front?

Before I start I have been searching this all afternoon, and haven't found the answer.
Alot of guys seem to just weld their center diff, and then run a vce for weight savings. I plan on doing this but what about the front diff and rear diff? Should they be welded also, or maybe just the rear diff? I'm pretty sure I have a non-lsd rear diff and was thinking if it was to have it welded at the same time I have the center diff done. Same goes for the front diff. Has anyone done this? What are the pros and cons?
This will be on a drag car that will see some street driving, so drivability isn't a major concern if it will help my launches and not destroy itself. Lets discuss.

A welded centre will make sure torque always is 50-50 front to back. You could never drive a car with a welded front or rear though. The wheels need to be able to run at different speeds to turn.

i have one, i only notice it when trying to make a tight turn, like into a parking space. the wheels bind up and churp, not good on the drivetrain

I am also in the middle of deciding if I want a welded center diff. I am getting a Dogbox Racing stage 3 with an added evo 2nd but cant decide between a welded diff and a 4 spider.

ask alex what he thinks, tell him your power level, and what you use the car for. because i drive my car everyday and only make 450whp and 310wtq i wish i went with a 4 spider

If you weld the front diff, you WON'T be able to turn the steering wheel when stopped or at slow speeds. It would be hard on your power steering pump trying to turn it.

Another issue with a welded front diff is that is it were to fail, you probably wouldn't be ready and/or able to control it. If you're racing at a dragstrip, you'll be thrown into a wall. If in traffic, if could be much worse. I'm usually all for breaking the mold and trying something new, but I wouldn't ever recommend welding anything but the center differential on our cars. I good pair of front and rear LSDs is all you need.


Also, regarding a welded center; I've noticed that it's usually a 1G car when the owner complains of it's driveability, and the 2G owners usually love them.

Mine is a shep trans with welded diff. I would most definitely pay the money for a 4spider if it is a dd or in your budget. I wish I would of not cheeped out. THis thing is vary hard to drive in tight spaces, wheels bind up and it kills the engine making it look like you dont know how to drive. She does launch hard however.

I have to agree I didn't notice mine unless it was a tight turn. I loved having my center diff welded in my Shep stage4 and will do it again when I swap to auto.
