the car is a 91 talon awd drive....when i started the car one day it started kind of funny like the idle an everything, but it started running fine, but when i hit the gas it wont go higher then 3500-4000 rpm even just sitting there in nuetral....whats up with that? compression is 150 all the way across. now since it wont go above that i cant drive it because when i hit that mark it drops down so low it dies..
please can somebody help-what is wrong with my baby?

I would replace the coil pack. It has to be something in theplugs wires c pack or t pack. Something is causing it to cut at a certain rpm and igniton components oversee this most of the time.

Its tough to nail these gremlins down. I t could lie in the ecu(lets hope not) But my buddys did it at5k every time al the time bad coil pack was diagnosed.

man i hope ur right my baby was running so good then this/ we thought it was a vacume leak but we couldnt find any leaks so we were stumped, tomarrow we will try the coil pack...

get out your manual and voltmeter and test your ignition system components don not go buy 8 dollar plugs 60 dollar wires and a 200 dollar coil pack when you can test for free. The ignitions system componants are very easy to test.

Just buying parts without actually testing anything is a great way to lose a ton of money. If that's what your after, go ahead, but personally I wouldn't do it that way.
