Hey guys/girls, I have the weirdest problem. My car has just started to stutter on me again,:notgood: it does it at all times, cold, hot, part throttle, full throttle, idle. I checked for a boost leak but that was not it. I have new plugs and wires so I eliminated that, It has done it before but for some reason it has stopped for about a month or two and now its doing it again. I found out that it is a little better at full boost but it still does it slightly. When it does it my car back fires and it stutters for a few seconds then stops, then does it agian a few seconds later, when I throttle it, it revs up like a two stroke.:banghead: When it does it at idle my car bogs down really low and jumps back up. I really hope someone can help me out, I've tried 2 shops and a few guys that have pretty good knowledge about cars and none of them can figure it out. I'd appreciate it .:thumb:

sounds like an ignition or timing problem your backfiring b/c the fuel isnt being ignited get a spark tester and make sure your coil is putting out proper voltage ahould be atleast 27kv i beleive

I dont believe there is anywater in the gas, and i'll do the spark test tomorrow morning. Thanks for the responses guys!

Vacuum leak or your cts died and you're running very rich. Check your plugs, they should be a nice gray/tan color. Check engine light on? Does your idle hunt (rev up and then drop, repeat)?.

The CEL has been on ever since I got the car. My idle does hunt, but it does it for only a little awhile, then runs normal, then does it agian. CTS? What does that stand for?

Coolant temp sensor. You should get a logger setup, you'll be able to read the codes and fix the problems without having to scratch your head.

Check your tps (it's on the throttlebody), your maf, and the knock sensor (back of block, about 8 inches down from the intake, can't miss it. If the goo is leaking out of it, it needs to be replaced).

One quick question, my closed throttle possition switch is on top of the TB instead in my ISC, what other cars can I yank it off of?
