weird sound while idling

okay here is the problem: the car sounds like something is rattling while it is idling, but when you give it the gas to take off, it stops at around 1500rpm. it has a metallic sound, but it also sounds like something plastic. i've looked under the hood to try to find where its at generaly, but really can't tell. its starting to get worse though. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

try to find out where it is coming from, that should narrow down your diagnose. mine has it too, and it's from the idler pulley.

i don't suppose it's just heatplates on your exhaust...

yea, it's probably ur exhaust. same thing is happening on my 95 GSX. the exhaust is just a bit loose.

think i may have found it actually. its around the idler pulley, and timing belt

stuf i can think of are toasted bearings, loose pulley, belt not tight enough. I wouldn't go fidgeting with tightening the belt without professional inspection.
