weird problem

i finaly got my car running after i brought it in march of this year. it has not ran since then and we got it running and when i press the gas the throttle sticks on open alittle bit and i can pull the gas pedal back it will idle fine. and when i driving the car i can push the gas it spit and back fires. there was alittle of old gas in it but i put gas in it and it is still doing it. please help ....

have you adjused the cable on the intake? also spray some pb blaster inside the cable casing and use wd 40 after. I had a very simular issue with mine and that has help it for me.

How far have you drivin it? it might take a while to get that old gas out, have you checked your plugs?

Yes, that's what it sounds like to me. The linkage and possible the throttle body shaft itself may need a little lube on the linkage bushings. Try to spray the lube where the shaft goes into the throttle body while moving the lever back and forth. That should take care of the binding, the other problem seems to be a disconnected air line or one of your hoses for your turbo might be disconnected or just loose. Your car can't meter the air completly so it stumbles and backfires.
