well today i raced a built civic from a 35mph roll and won obviously
, but ne ways. i have a evoIII b16g, walbrol 255, dsmlink, exhaust and bov. so onto the problem, while i was racing him i heard a little sudden faint hiss and then i let off the gas and it went away and came back in spurts every now and then when we did a few more pulls. but after all of this i noticed and on the stock oil pressure gauge i am reading a little lower than normal. it's a 2g and it's not just a the first bar where it used to be in the middle or just a the top of the little oil filler can thingy in the gauge. I wasn't able to check my oil level since it sucked the dipstick down in the oil pan cause the top is broken off (stupid plastic)
but i went to the store and added about a 1/2 of a quart of some different type of oil but same weight and all that, just different brand. i got home and fished the dipstick out and found i'm actually about a half a quart or so high about the second notch. i am guessing i blew the gasket on the oil cap maybe since it's always leaked and now i think i just blew it out? but the car runs the same and pulls just as hard. during the pulls it smelt kinda funny but i think that was cause i was running rich with now fpr and that some of the oil was burning off on the valve cover? or getting hot at least. Keep in mind i raced with about .25 a quart above the top notch. So i think the pressure just blew the gasket on the oil cap and now it can't hold pressure? cause now it kinda moves from the first line to just above it. I dunno and sry for the long post
, but feedback is much appreciated. i'm worried about my baby. -Brandon [VFRacing]
