Took it by a local mechanic to ask what it could be and he said it was the throw out bearing. He also said something about getting the fly wheel machined too.

Its like a woosh woosh sound. And if so what is the normal cost to get it fixed?

I've been meaning to get a new performance clutch kit anyways (to go along with my B&M short shifter), but I can't seem to find anything?

Can someone please help me with the above matters? Thanks guys

i dont know about your clutch problems, but SPEC and Clutchmasters make good clutches for our cars. ACT only makes turbo model clutches so dont bother looking there.

EDIT: what year do you have? please fill out your profile. if you have a 1g then ACT makes a clutch for you, at least for the 2.0, but i dunno if the other companies do. i just figured its a 2g since there is a seperate 1g sub forum that all the 1g subjects go in

yeah its a 98. hold on and I fill out the profile. Do you have any good links for those products?

Your car is a n/t right? I take it it is. So on the hand when you replace your clutch take the old one to the "local mechanic and tel him to tryt a resurface your flywheel. It can't be done. That shows you how much he knows about your car. You have what they call a modular clutch. hich means the flywheel, clutch plate and pressure plate are 1 piece. Rivited together, can't be taken apart. I replaced mine not long ago. Spec makes a nice clutch for our cars (stage2) worth you looking into. Good price. Now you can just replace the throw out bearing if your car doesn't have many miles on the clutch. I bough a oem clutch that came with the throwout bearing for around $150. And installed it myself not hard at all to do. IF you need links send me a message i'll hook you up.

GS Dewd:

That would be cool if you could post the links. I found the stage 2 clutch on nipponpower.com for $379+$20 shipping is this a fair price or can I find it some where else for cheaper?

If I do it my self how much time should I give myself, its hard to find time to do things myself because I'm in the military.

I appreciate all the posts guys thanks.

Are Sachs clutch kits any good and do they last any longer?

ACT makes clutches for for N/T, I've had the 2100 in my car for 2 years with street disk and its been great. I highly recomend it, the pedal pressure is slightly stronger then stock, it has exellent feel I like it more then my friends centerforce. Before I replaced my clutch it was making noice because of the release bearing was bad.
