So I'm driving. And a noise from the left side. Driver side. In the front. It sounds like I'm dragging a chain on the ground. Only when I get up to 35 miles an hour. And more. And also when I put stress on the left side. Like when I'm turning.

I'm stuck and confused! Help!

Even though you checked for play in the hub, it sounds like a wheel bearing or your driver side axle/half shaft. With your axle, you can test it by turning your wheel all the way one direction and go either forward or back. If you hear a popping, it could be it. The wheel bearing is usually a grinding noise which is what it may sound like when you are dragging a chain. I cannot be to sure because I am not there. Thats where I would start. Bearings are only 30 dollars, but you do need a press to get them in and out.

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me to, you can get the whole hub and bearing for like 50 or 60 bucks, do you have and other things happening other than a noise? Steering wheel wobble, or pulling to one side or the other?

Sounds like the bearing. Drive down the road and swerve. If it's the bearing it will get louder everytime you swerve to the right since that is when you are putting more pressure on it.

I would have to agree with everyone else on the wheel bearing, don't drive on it too long without figuring out first if that is it or not. Last time i heard a bearing go bad, it lasted about 20 minutes from when i heard it then blew.

From the description though i can't think of anything else that would make a similar sound. Have you done any recent work in that area before the noise started?
