Thread cleaned and modded.. starting issue, couldn't make any more than 21psi in 3rd gear (was making constant 25 in 1st anfd 2nd)

cranked down adjustment on new BOV and helped some, I was thinking it was maybe some clutch slippage dropping load from the engine causing boost ot drop...

started hunting for boost leaks, found nothing new, started looking for what had changed and started to suspect the new BOV's extra line from the IC pipe that is suppposed to help the BOV open faster, and that's what prompted me to turn the adjustment screw in so far (which did help me get to 27-28'ish psi)

So, today after i changed a crush washer at the clutch slave that had been slowly leaking, i machined a solid little barbed plug for this BOV to IC pipe line, unhooked the line from the bOV and put my plug in place with a zip tie.......

Now boost is as much as i want to have but the added air flow from the BOV not leaking has caused me to need a complete re-rune anywhere over 19-20psi, (went from 11.5 AFR's to 13.8 AFR's) but froom making a pull with the global trim knob to add some fuel, the power is WAY up compared to even the last time i was happy with it. And the IAT's are way down from the short log i took on the way home. I was coming back from a welding job i was doing for a friend to make a few bucks, fixing a cracked ZX10 frame, which i guess that year and the place it cracks it pretty common.

Anyway, back on topic, I don't know why they ever put these "helper vacume lines" on BOV's to start with, but usually i've never hooked them up. And of course the first time i do decide to use it, it did nothing but cause major headaches and bost leaks, AND of course since i did the last tune with it hooked up the other day, now i have to toss an old fuel map back in and hope i'm near where i want to be...

** a nice note about the haltech is that the global fuel trim knob on the dash i can just turn while making a pull untill the AFRs are where i want them, and its nice because if i'm logging I can just look back on the log and see how many % i was adding, as well as seeing the RPM, load/psi cell and actual injector pulsewidth in ms to aid me in making the changes to the fuel map to get it where i want it without having to make a lot of repeated pulls (i can usually get it right after one log and one set of changes cause i printthe log andthen just sit there and change the values to what i want in the cells or select a whole range of cells (as many as i want) and add to them by a percentage of their current values

Now my only problem/cmplaint (DSM can't be problem free ya know ;) ) is that when i changed the crush washer on the slave cylinder, I now have an air bubble i can't seem to get blead out of the system on my own.. prior to fixing this small but harmess leak the trans was shifting perfectly at 7500 RPM and doing it impressively fast for being completely stock and OLD with high miles, now i don't want to drive it until it's right again

So maybe tomorrow i'll get a helper and run some more fluid through the system and get it back where it was earlier today and possibly be happy for a day or three :D

yea, not sure why they put that there to start with.. must be for low boost guys that need an aid in opening the BOV

Got a haltech for sale rahter cheap if you're interested let me kow
