water on driver side carpet

alright, i have a nice amount, almost a puddle, on my driver side carpet right in front on the seat, its in a circle about 5 inches around but its not wet anywhere else around it, i did dry it before but it still comes back..any ideas? thanks

Is it actually water or some type of fluid? That would help a lot. Smell, color, taste...if you dare?

undo the bolts holding your seat, then undo the side panel (screw is located near gas pedal, then lift up the cars carpet an get a closer look

Make sure it's not brake fluid from a dying master cylinder, then lift the carpet and look for rust holes, then make sure your sunroof drain tubes are intact, and finally, it can come into the body from the vent passages on the rear quarter (which has been known to find its way to the driver/passenger footwell historically).

well it has no smell and is clear, I dont have a sun roof and I didnt get any snow yet, still confused as to why it gets in that one spot, its even too much water to be from wet feet.

check and see if your rear o2 whole still has the rubber bung on it( its under yur seat.

I also get water on the front of my seat when it rains. I also get it behind the drivers seat as well, in a pretty big puddle also. Any more thoughts would be very helpful.

Pull the carpet and look for holes.

Sounds like your floorboard(s) are deteriorating. Pull the carpet up and see if you can spot the problem. If it's directly in front of (as in, close to) the seat, I don't think a leaking master cylinder could be to blame.

wow the same thing happed to me i found out it was coming from my the rear tail light it was not tight and my hatch drain was plugged up, it filled my spare tire-well and ran along the side of the car to the front.

i took out my carpet and panels. then my girl was out side with the water hose putting water on every place water can come in, and i was inside to see were it was coming from! then BAM!!!! found it

You can also pull up the carpet and have a buddy with a hose run water on the windshield door and what not, while you are inside looking for where it is coming from with a light.

Agreed on the possiblity of it coming from the trunk. My buddy had a 2g and it flooded the rear because the drains in the hatch were plugged. You would be surprised where water can sneak up on you from. I would go through and check everything, Pull the carpet.
