I drive a Slush-O-Matic '95 Talon ESI with the 420A. Had the car about a month now. I recently noticed a sound (that resembles water slushing around) coming from the dash/engine bay. It only seems to happen when I accelerate from a stop. I put the car in park and revved but no sound. No sound under braking either. I thought maybe it was just coolant sloshing around in the reservoir, then I came to my senses. LOL I searched the forums for an hour, and can't find a straight answer. I had a similar problem with an 86.5 Supra I had, turned out there was air in coolant system. Did a flush/fill and was gone. Anyways, if somebody has any ideas as to what this could be, your input would be greatly appeciated. Or if anyone can just hit me with a link to the right post, I'm still trying to get this searching down pat (keywords, argh!!).

P.S. I know, I should have done flush/fill first before posting, but I don't have a garage and it's under 20 degrees outside. Dealer I bought the car from said flush/fill was done in Sept. this year......

I have this same thing! It's weird as hell. Mine only happens when I start my car in the morning though. Sounds like water's being slushed around:confused:

Glad I'm not the only person to experience this. It doesn't happen on a regular basis for me though, but always when I just start the car up.

It is the sound of coolant running through your heater core in your heater box. You probably have some air in the coolant system, try to add some coolant if it is low and bleed the air out.

The heat works fine for a hatchback in 15 degree weather :thumb: The temp stays same when at operating temp(no fluctuating)
How do I bleed the air out of the coolant system? Do I just add coolant, run car, add more coolant, etc....? What can I say? I suck at bleeding ;)

Wait until the car cools down completely, morning is prob the best time to do this.
Squeeze the upper radiator hose to see if you can hear air leaking out of anywhere, you shouldn't hear anything.
Fill the coolant reservoir to the full line.
Take off the coolant cap on the thermostat housing.
Add coolant
Start the car with the coolant cap off
Wait a minute or 2, if the coolant goes down add more coolant.
Put the cap back on, take it for a spin, and watch your temps.

I did the method you recommened RED. Everything is fine now. Thanks to RED and BISH for your help!
