Wastegate wont open

I just fininshed installing my Evo III 16g turbo. For some reason my wastegate wont open up. I have already hit 15 or 16 psi unwillingly. Im not sure what they are rated at stock.
I would really appreciate it if u guys can help me out.

Btw... i have a vac line coming from the WG T'd off with the nipple off j pipe and it going to my bov.

If you have access to an air compressor you could take the vacuum line going to the wastegate and push a certain amount of air in there to see when it opens. If it doesn't open at all then your wastegate is bad. If it opens before 15 or 16 psi, maybe you have a leak or have it hooked up wrong but it sounds like you have it right. This could just be boost creep this is fairly common with the evo 16g's you might have to port out the wastegate area on the turbine housing or if that doesn't cure it buy a 34mm flapper and port it out even more. Does your boost slowly creep up when it hits a certain level? If so thats probably boost creep. If not figure out if something is wrong with your wastegate or at what psi the actuator opens.

Sounds like boost creep to me, search for that for further directions to solve your problem. If you are just running off of just the wastegate actuator, it should be at 9psi.

the thing is.... i ported the hell out of the turbine side and wg area. i even ported out the hole.
I really dont think theres gonna be any boost creep with all the porting i have done. Not only that i have an external o2 dump. I was just wondering if there was any way to check the wastegate actuator to see if it is defective?

Use an air compressor and see if you can get the actuator to pop the wastegate open. if you can't then its broke or something is blocking the wastegate arm or its bent.
