open wastegate

I plan on running open wastegate once i get my new turbo setup going. i really love the sound it makes. What are the pros and cons that come with running an unrecirulated wastegate?

The only real cons are that it is usually illegal in most states and is loud enough to get police attention. And I have seen a few fires start from people having the open dump to close to flammable components.

As for pros, it lets your waste gate operate as efficiently as possible.

think you mean open dump not open waste gate. A waste gate is a way to limit boost, the dump tube can either be recirculated or dumped to atmosphere.


They are cool but loud as shit, you will get tired of it. And of getting pulled over because of it
