mine has the factory actuator but my friend said somethin about putting a t25 or so or any wastegate actuator really and hook it up so the valves open up to boost or something. idk too much bout them. but my question is does it have to be a t25 dsm actuator? btw, i AM looking for a 2g t25 wastegate actuator since i'm not allowed to post in the classifieds yet......thanx for any help.

1.) There is the option of attaching a vacuum line straight from the intake manifold to the valve actuator. This means that the moment you hit boost ( or loose vacuum ) the valves open and the short and long length runners are in use. This is wrong. It means that you loose the benefit of the long length runners at low RPMs if boost is reached. You will want the long length runners for low boost and low RPMs.This is key to a proper functioning manifold.

I believe that you can actually have it hooked up with a t25 actuator and it will work. When I installed my cyclone, I did tons of research and came across people doing this. The problem is, the manifold runners are designed to be activated at a certain rpm. With the traditional way of hooking it up, the butterfly valves open at whatever rpm you set it at and works much better than boost-based activation. I really liked my cyclone, but I sold that car. BTW, if you're not going to use the white canister and such to activate your cyclone, I'll take it off your hands :)

yeah i saw a post that had that info. my friend has a t25 hooked to his cyclone. i understand now how it is supposed to REALLY operate but the intake was just swapped over...its not a jdm engine so all the other stuff required for original operation doesn't exist. LOL. but i'm still looking for a 2g t25 wastegate actuator if someone has one to get rid of....needin one asap.

You can get some sort of check valve... I'm pretty sure a few people used a GM part in place of the white canister...

I know a guy who hooked his up with a wastegate actuator but somehow I recall hims opening the butterflys after he exceeded like 19-20psi therefore on a bigger turbo would put him in the 3500-4k rpms range of its opening which I thought wasnt ideal since the longer you keep them closed the more torque you get, on a 16g car what would be the ideal rpms for this thing to open up; like 4500? What psi would a T25 wastegate open the butterflys
