i have a 97 gs-t and am interested in isntalling a sunroof. How much am i looking at just to see if it is worth it

Why don't you get together with the poster in another thread who want's to remove his.

yea i've been wanting a sunroof too lately, they just look so sexy on eclipses :sneaky:

here's a question...do aftermarket sunroofs have a leaking problem or anything weird that comes along with having them.

I would imagine since the components are readily available that it would probably be less than a completely custom job for a car that was never offered a sunroof, if it was done right it shouldnt leak either, when that happens its usually just shady work.

I would definately call an autobody shop for that. But just to give you an idea, my friend called and got a quote for one for a camaro and he was quoted around 700 bucks. Not to bad, if a sunroof is really what you want.

Anywhare from 1000 TO 2000, "CUSTOM" Job being done its very expensive, if you dont have a sunroof, then dont put one on, spend that money on perforamce, i have a sunroof becuase it came with the car, but if it didnt come with the car then i wouldnt be looking for a sunroof due to the Prices rapeing your wallet, spend that money on performance youl be alot happier.

I had an aftermarket sunroof installed last year I think it was around 400 for a manual flip up, and if you so desired you can completley remove the roof itself. I know on the 1g I wanted to do an electric sliding one, but the company I went to said that my roof was not big enough to fit in the electric one with the style of roofs they carried. If I remeber the cost of an electric it was 700-800 bucks. I am happy no leakage and I got what I wanted.

Very bad idea. Usually a car that does not have a factory installed sunroof the roof is not supported properly for one. My old car came with one and it leaked all over the headliner. Then I couldn't get another seal for it. I ended up selling the car with about a half an inch of silicone on the roof! Make sure it is really what you want!
