I wasnt sure if I should post here or the newbie. Ive read multiple threads on the kit. Im going to use the fp intake pipe non recirc because im using the tial BOV. Is anyone using this kit with the jmfab intake manifold. With the manifold the throttle body is going to sit lower. But what your feedback on this. Will it fit? Will I have to cut or get extra pipes.

VRSF 2G FMIC Front Mount Intercooler Kit : 95-99 Eclipse & Talon Turbo 2G DSM

I run the VRSF and a JMF and mine fit without cutting anything. I just put a 45* coupler after the BOV to a 90* pipe that connects to the TB.

You will need to cut the piping that comes off of the throttle body elbow about an inch or two. You will then need to draw a bead of weld around the newly cut end, or have it bead-rolled again to keep the coupler on. I cut the throttle body flange off of the elbow and had it rewelded to eliminate the downward angle it comes off of the SMIM with. You have to eliminate this angle because you will hit your transmission mount with the elbow otherwise. You will need to buy a 30degree (preferred) or a 45 degree coupler, which will make up for the new lower placement of your throttle body. I can confirm that this works on both 1g and 2g throttle bodies on my v2 Magnus SMIM. Yours should be not much different (or at all).

Another odd question, should I buy new throttle body studs and bolts and of course I'm buy the gaskets? Is there anything else I should know before getting into this? I already got a new fuel filter and lines and rail since I'm doing this.

I had to buy new bolts to attach my throttle body to the SMIM. New gaskets are a must too! I can't think of anything else off of the top of my head to warn you about...it's pretty straightforward. Just take your time and don't hesitate to ask any questions as they come up!

Forgot to mention that I am using a 1g N/T TB so I used a 90* pipe to connect the BOV pipe to the TB. So instead of using the TB elbow and having the pipe angle up to the intake manifold, my BOV pipe comes off the FMIC and goes straight then has teh 90* bend to the TB. I can post a picture when I get home today.

Here is a picture of how mine is ran:

I am getting ready to install my jmfab intake. But a few questions.

1. The solinoids on the firewall, can they be moved down for a more clean look?

2. The intake has 4 fittins on the bottom, What are they for left to right?

3. The pcv valve that goes to the intake, what do I do with that? Then the little line? Do I have to put them together with a T?

4. Im upgrading to speed density, but for the meentime what do I do with the map on the intake?

I circled them in blue.

1. Yes or you could even remove them if you don't have emissions and can get rid of your check engine light with Ecmlink.

2. One port for brake booster, fuel pressure regulator, blow off valve, boost gauge generally.

3.People tend to run some type of catch can, thus eliminating the PCV valve, I am unsure of what other options you have.

4. When I did my 6 bolt swap I simply left the MDP sensor plugged in, but not connected to anything. Didn't seem to cause any ill effects, although I doubt it is the correct way to do it.

On a side note, SD is awesome! You'll love it once you get it all set up.

Ok so I got pretty far with the install but Im have a few odd questions.

1. What do I do with the mdp or map sensor on the intake. Do I let it hang?

2. Is it a big noticable affect if I delete the FPS? I would like to run the fpr right off the intake.

3. I think my bov and boost gauge are "T" together. What should I do? Cap off the port on the mani?
What do I do with the pvc? Can I use that exra port?

Here is mine, I am using a 1g throttle body non turbo. I had the pipe welded because I didnt want leaks.
