Im thinking about getting VRSF FMIC for my 2g dsm. Was going thru the order process and it asks if I need a J pipe for an additional amount of money. Is this just for an aftermarket turbo or do you need it with any turbo? I'm currently using the stock t25 turbo right.
So I guess long story short is do I need to purchase the j pipe with the intercooler for a stock t25 turbo?
Thanks
Brian

No not for the t25, but if you plan to upgrade to a 14b/16g/ (20g with tdoh5) housing than yes you'll need the j pipe. Vrsf intercooler requires a j pipe that faces towards the driver side, so most other j pipes won't work with that kit.

Ok that's what I thought but I wasn't 100% sure
Thanks you
Brian

Would check out gettinf punishment racing j pipe with vsrf kit the vsrf one is a complete poorly designed pita

It's because VRSF doesn't make the kit. They order it from china, mark it up, and sell it to you. You can purchase the same kit VRSF sells, INCLUDING J-PIPE, for $180-$200 on eBay.

Punishment does the same thing, but CX Racing(Who they buy it from) actually have a better design on a few things compared to the general eBay stuff VRSF sells.

If you want absolute quality, fitment, and unbeatable cooling properties, give ETS a look. It's pricey, but worth it. Unless you're sticking with a t25-16G range turbo, in which case nevermind.

^^ Wish I would have known that before I bought another one from them for my 2g :ohdamn: I did skip the j-pipe this time though so I only kinda over paid :sosad: I guess that's what all the "e-bay is crap posts" gets me, a more expensive ebay part...

I did a lot of research on vsrf intercooler. Basically what I read is you get better clamps and couplings with the vsrf over the eBay one. Also I read that they have a better fitment. So maybe it's worth it I dunno

It's the exact same kit. They just order couplers and clamps from siliconeintake.com for pennies and include them in the kit. Recently they weld on a "screw on flange" for BOVs that always seem to leak. Fitment is identical, VRSF just pre-slots the tabs on the core itself.

Overall, I'll just buy a BOV flange adapter myself for $40( or get a local who TIG welds like a boss, and get him to weld one on for free) and order the exact same clamps and couplers from siliconeintakes for another $30, and still save over $100. And I won't be supporting a company that self-admittedly hates DSMs and their owners. :)

Well hot damn I'm glad I didn't order one. I actually bought one and a month later they emailed me and told me it would be another month. I just canceled the order.

I would have thought with how long people have been running the vrsf intercooler here that the whole ebay/vrsf being the same would have been mentioned before. Oh well, now I know. What's done is done and I'm only a 16g guy but w/meth injection so not a huge deal but would have been nice to save some coin.

Thanks for the info Cracked, maybe I can help someone else save some mula :thumb:

Just posted about the vrsf kit and jpipe. My jpipe is hitting my drivers side fan and regardless of how I move the turbo the fan is pretty much unusable. Would the ETS or punishment racing jpipe fix this? Also I do agree the VRSF jpipe is very hard to get a bolt in. I actually attached it with the turbo out of the car.

Ets is way better and they have a j pipe that runs from turbo to u joint that is very nice.

Get the VRSF j pipe because it fits perfectly with a Mishimoto 2 core radiator and both stock fans. No trimming or cutting anything. I'm running this set up. Only thing is you have to put the radiator in first then mount the fans from the bottom.

This may help also, put the j-pipe on the turbo before installing the turbo. The angle needed to tighten the inner bolt is extremely difficult to get to with the turbo already on the car. I use the j-pipe gasket along with some rtv to get rid of boost leaks there. Since I've done it this way I haven't had a boost leak at the j-pipe.

Cool thanks for the info.
I guess I'll have to call up VRSF for the J pipe. I already have the fmic but don't see the J pipe sold separately.

Hello if I get the vrsf intercooler kit. And get the ets jpipe would it work. Or would the ets jpipe work just for their system. Thanks
