vr4 cams in 7-bolt head

I always thought it was a bad idea to use different cams in a different head due to the tolerances that were created on the cams/head from the mileage.

turbo cams are turbo cams.....1g and 2g are the only real difference but even then its just in the cam gears...since the gear has the cam angle sensor in the intake side if i recall

Does it make a difference if I have the 6-bolt swap with '94 CAS all with the 7-bolt head and vr4 cams? All should work just fine right?

no not really. its the cam caps that you cannot swap.

also what year is the head (cam angle sensor) that you want to put the cams in... if its 95/96 you wont have any problems, if its 97+ its not gonna work because of the cam angle sensor unless you switch to a 1g CAS

EDIT:you answered my question before i finished asking it. if you have a 94 CAS then you have no issues.

They're not necessarily all the same. The 2G CAS actually bolts to the intake cam, so the camshaft itself is drilled and threaded. Some DSM camshafts don't have that threaded hole, and will only work with a 1G CAS (unless you drill and tap the intake cam).

But since the OP is running a 1G CAS, the GVR4 cams should swap right in with no surprises.
