Vote! Does your walbro whine?

Well the car is 100% stock right now. So i don't see why anyone would just throw in an aftermarket fuel pump. But it is louder than a mother fu**er.

I got dual walbro inline and intank 255hp's rewired but the whine still fluctuates with idle. Pretty loud. The whine changed awhile ago got me worried that the one inline was going, replaced it with a new one still making the same noise so guessing the E-85 is doing it or the intank one is going and cant keep up with feeding the inline one. But yes gets louder the lower the tank gets. Good indication to gas up for me. Don't really mind it bc there are sooooo many other things that rattle (solid engine mounts) misses, and tick

I have a Walbro 255 and I have never heard it whine. I can hear it when it first kicks on, before the car is running, but no whine. Mine is not rewired though.

gotta listen to it and youll hear it in my gst. extremely faint in my evo though.

Interesting thread. I've honestly never noticed it. I'll have to pay attention and see if I can hear any sort of whining. Maybe at start-up?

Finally installed my Walbro 255. It's faint. I can hear it at idle but as soon as I start going, the exhaust overwhelms the noise. I have a full interior, rewired fuel pump. Also I have no gas in my tank. The gaslight came on as I was testing it out. For the record, I believe I have a genuine Walbro. It sounds like the first one tested in this video.
