I have a Apexi N1 exhaust + DP + Vibrant Resonator. it sounds legit but im being harassed by the cops and need to quiet it down.

Will one of these Vibrant Performance - Aluminum Race Mufflers fit my Apexi? The only Vibrant options are 3" and 3.5" but Apexi says the piping is 3.15"-3.35". Apexi N1 specs. Not sure if an exhaust shop can make this fit or I should look for something else

I want to run a muffler INLINE with my resonator and then N1. Will it fit?

==<Resonator>==<Vibrant Muffler>==<N1 Fart Can>()

No, I won't be fine because the cops are saying it's too loud. There's a cop that sits at my corner and waits for me to drive by and pulls me over checking whether it's fixed or not. Apparently it's too loud at idle

I already had to remove my tint.. please post useful responses as I am already getting enough crap from the police

I believe yes they will make it fit. It seems the apexi 80-85mm piping is 3.25" and any muffler shop can easily compensate for the 1/4inch difference. If you are set on doing this I would go with the 3.5" muffler then they could step up your piping instead of the 3.0" muffler and have to step down your piping a 1/4". I would also call the shop you are going to have do it and double check if they are capable of welding a 3.5 muffler on 3.25 pipe before you order just to be safe.

I myself was looking into doing something similar. Using the dual tip muffler from vibrant and connecting it to the apex exhaust system to quiet down my car. Being in williamson county its just peace of mind to look like the exhaust is stock.

Well its modified, so its not legal..Two suggestions, stay out of high rpms, and stop being a teenager..Cops love to pull over kids.

You know how many times Ive seen a modified muscle car pulled over? 1 Time..

Great idea. Thanks this helps alot!

Bud92gsx - It probably seems like I'm flooring it all the time and running 80 mph in 1st gear but I'm not. I see what you're saying but I'm just trying to get to work and back. Thanks for looking at my thread either way.

All input is appreciated but I already decided to go this route. Sent an email out to the exhaust shop already about the 3.5". Thanks again jcon. Hopefully it fits under there

Let us know how it comes out, and if you could post your airflow pre and post muffler install(as well as a sound clip!), that would really help. Lots of others looking for a quiet way to get quiet flow without losing power. :) I've got a 3" ATR pitbull cat-back, and it is NOT quiet.

It's either 3'' ID or OD depending on how the muffler/exhaust piping was made. It should work. But why aluminum muffler? You either have to clamp it on there or use v-bands to mount it.

Hey man call me lucky or something like that..I have been pulled over in my own car, 1 time..And I was pulled over for abiding by the law..ROFL

At my unkles funeral last year..I had no insurance on my car..Obviously its a tad loud..I was in the funeral line like the 3rd car...I drove in second gear the whole time..

I even went to the bar that weekend, parked on main street..And drove my car home..( I live a half a block away) but we were in ties and all that so I wasnt walking..

I didn't know that thanks. But see below why I thought I'd go Aluminum over Steel. If you could comment, I'd appreciate it

Enraged78 - I will post before/after video. But have one more question for everyone. Which below should I get? Steel would be a better install and would fit better (aluminum is 5" diameter wtf) but the aluminum is 5" longer

Stainless 3.5" is 9" long

Aluminum 3.5" is 14" long

can anyone chime in on the steel vs aluminum? one is longer but does it matter?

most states have a law that says if the exhaust isnt oem it is illegal. to the op. push the clutch in when you see cops. or get a silencer insert for it for daily driving if you find your getting alot of static for it.

Thanks guys but I already do have a silencer. And the law here is very vague. No DB limits to go off of... it's basically the officers discretion whether its too loud or not

I'm going to try one of these mufflers out once I decide steel vs. aluminum and if it still isn't good enough get a stock looking dual tip as well

I figured I'd let people chime in what they think is best and I'll be the scapegoat/test it out. Alot of us have the same goal but haven't found a solution yet: quiet yet not stock exhaust
