Winnipeg,
Okay ths is very weird, the alternator is tested fine, bought a new battery today, all belts replaced couple months ago. So anyways whenever i run my system the light dim when the bass plays , so i turn off the system. But then when i turn off my car and leave it for like couple hours and come back it doesn't turn on, how can it be the battery with the battery brand new and yes i tested it before i bought it was perfect. Its kinda cold here right now -11 - -20.... but nothing a new battery can handle. Also when i hit anything power it looks like the lights sort of dim, like when i hit the power windows switch the light dims a bit. Also when i left for a couple hours my alarm died as well. Like nothing was working interior until i used my booster charger in the trunk, lucky me.... It seems there something draining my electrical power, not the system, not the battery or alternator.... what can it be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I need help guys

Are your battery terminals tight? Are you sure your alternator is good? Is the alternator new or rebuilt? Did you install the stereo system or did someone else? How long have you been haveing these problems?

Yes my battery terminals are right red and black all hooked up. The alternator was tested and passed. My friend installed my system its just one type R, but i noticed i don't have a ground wire for the sub. But thing never had problem all last summer and just happen now. Still kinda chilly outside. Plugged my car in last night and went this morning and everything ran fine.... really weird.....

I had this very same problem after i installed my own system Typer R and all .. I took it to an audio shop had them re-wire everything and my problem went away. Too bad i didnt ask them what they did different then what i did. Try taking it to an audio shop and having them over-look everything.

You could have something drawing power from the battery in your system. Since you have a sub you probably have a live feed off the battery with a fuse correct? Follow that wire and see if it runs strait to the sub with no interrupting connections. If there is nothing interrupting that live feed to the sub then when you turn off the car it is still drawing power.

Okay i have a seperate wire with a fuse only how can i follow it through to the system and whats a good thing to get to help drain less power.....

TRUST ME ITS THE TERMINALS the statement made earlier in the thread didn't mean were they backwards. Take your terminals off and scrubb them with a wire brush untill they are clean, then do the same to the terminals. Reinstall them and make sure they are extra tight.

How could his terminals be causing the battery to discharge without something feeding off the battery when the alternator is not in motion? From his description of what is occurring I do not think his problem is dirty terminals. BUT I will say that doing as babyviper said and cleaning the battery terminals and clamps is a cheap and easy place to start....

Okay im going to take it to a audio shop and clean my terminals hopefully this works guys. Anything other suggestions what it might be?

Check Your Ground Wires. If You Have A Bad One It Will React Like A Dicharged Battery. Dimming Light Are A Good Indicater Of A Bad Ground.
Also Make Sure You Have A Good Quality Heavey Gauge Wire For You Engine Grounds And Stereo Grounds.

What i meant was are your battery terminals are loose. If they are loose or corroded wires or connections then the battery (if its good) wont take the charge from your alternator.Where did you get your alt tested. I've had an alt test good only to find out that it was bad.My understanding is there are several tests that can be performed but they(autoparts store) perform the most common one .
