My car has always had a good bit of vibration every now and then, but recently it's been really bad. It only happens when I'm sitting at idle, and only when it idles lower than 900 RPMs. The vibration is so bad that it shakes my entire car, and when i open the hood my whole engine is vibrating very noticeably. Is this bad motor mounts or what?

Yes it could be a bad motor mount, or maybe someone did the stiff motor mount mods? but most likely a bad motormount.

Check your balance shaft and motor mounts. I wouldnt drive the car until youve ruled out balance shaft as they have been know to take out the timing belt and ruin a good motor.

Agreed, although when the oil pump is out of phase it's generally more noticeable in the 2k-3k range. Have a look at your timing belt components at TDC to make sure this isn't the case. When was the last time you did your timing belt replacement and was this problem concurrent with that change?

If not, I would suspect motor mounts also. You can visually check 3 of the 4 mounts, so it'll only take a minute or two to see 'em.

I replaced the timing belt right when I got the car about 2 years ago. So not that many miles. I don't believe it was vibrating then. If it was, it certainly wasn't as noticeable as it is now. I do think I remember my buddy saying something to be about getting my motor mounts replaced last time he had my car so it more than likely is that. I'll check them myself and have him look at it. Thanks though guys, I'll let you know what it is.

Did you replace your BS belt at the same time as you replaced your timing belt? If you not you should replace both belts right now before you do anything.
