I could not find this in any of the other forums here but I'm curious as to why, even on a 2g, that everyone seems to advocating the recirculation of the BOV. I know on 1g's that they run like butt if not recirculated but I thought it was ok with 2g's

Just don't vent on any DSM :notgood: . I vented my 2g when I first got my intake and 1g bov just for kicks and it idled like crap and the car would stall once and a while if I came to a stop.

It doesn't matter what generation dsm you have, the maf on a 1g and 2g are in the same place. The maf meters air going into the turbo and adds the air that is recirculated from the bov. By venting, you car is adding fuel for air that isn't there and even if you can't feel the difference, it's still there.

ahh thanks like I said I knew it was bad on 1g's mine idled like poop and I couldn't take it out of gear until it was below 2k rpms. I now have a HKS SSQ and I'm waiting for the recirculation kit to come in.

For some weird reason I just thought that 2g's were different.

DSMs have a MAS, not a MAF.

No, all DSMs are the same. If you want to vent, get a GM MAF and a MAFT.

Thanks for the correction, i knew that (really i did), i just get lazy sometimes and mix them up. But yes DGajre is right.

i had my 2g vented just to see how it felt and it took like 5 times to turn my car on and when i got down the street it stalled. I quickly recirculated it agian. Basically, your car idles like shit, but its loud... Not worth it

Your new so we will be easy on you.. If you vent your BOV on any car that has the BOV after the MAF you will run into some problems. When your searching, use advanced search and then select titles only and type in what your looking for. You will get anything and everything you need. Welcome!
