ok so pretty much as the topic states

i put in two of my brand new revised lifters in and my new valves and the head is all bear besides the two new valves revised 3g lifters the rockes and intake cam

and when the cam lobe is up the valves are still open

do i have to bleed the lifters??? they are brand new i just opened them

before i took the head apart with the old valves the same thing was happening but not quite as far open
and yes i know this is a newb question but i never delt with new lifters nor have i put a turbo head togather

when i did my 420a i didnt have this problem

well the valve is pushed all the way against the rocker which is pushed all the way against the cam thats why i think the lifters need the be collapsed because if i collapse them i am gussing it will move the pivot point on the cam and allow the valve to close all the way

I honestly dont know if thats possible because you can push down lifters with your fingers and if you can do that with your fingers then theirs no way that a spring with alot of pressure wont be able to push it down all the way too. If you want you can wait for someone else more knowledgable to reply back to you but i hope this helps.

If you can't move the lifter's with your fingers they need to be bled. You usually need to do this every time you remove a cam.

Negative. Valve "float" only happens when the engine is running. It has nothing to do with what the OP is describing.

ROFL I read that and said to myself, this guy must be able to defy the laws of physics and make static springs suddenly start vibrating. ROFLROFLROFL

Alright so all I have to do is bleed them i am guessing.

Today i went outside and looked at the valves where I left them last night and they where closed is this because of the pressure???

The pressure against the lifter is causing the lifter to bleed down over time.

This is completely normal, but you should still bleed them just to play things safe. It takes a few minutes to bleed lifters, and a lot longer to replace all the valves when they bend from not bleeding the lifters.

+1 agreed.
