I have a 6 bolt in a car I bought and it my wideband was reading lean so I decided to take the valve cover off and find that two of the rockers are just lying there. Any one else experience this? I thinking it could be the lifters doing it but that's just a wild guess.

What cams? What springs? How long or how many times has it happened?

The valves thos rockers came off, do the valve springs look a bit compressed?

Damn dude. The rockers just fell off? well, atleast the valves arent bent. Something is way off though. Thats bizarre. Its a strange conclusion: going from running lean to the next step in troubleshooting popping VC. Worked out for ya. Must have been running absolutely terrible with 2 valves closed constantly. Post up a pic please

I believe the cams are stock, the springs do not look compressed at all, this is the second time this has happened. It was on the intake side last time as well. About 30k on the motor

You can see both rockers laying there in this picture

from what i understand from similar issues, its from the lifters not coming back up after they've been compressed, and the roller gets thrown off. I forget how to fix it, maybe just replace them?, let them bleed down over night? something of that nature

Looks to have an up graded valve train.

Pull any ID markings you can find on the cams.

If you have regrinds the geometry can be off allowing the rockers to kick.

I would expect it more often than twice in 30k miles.

Whoa. I have never seen that. I hope it works out well for you man. Get the evo beehives if your getting a new set of springs (If your springs were compressed)

It happens fairly often, mainly when valves bend.

Also the springs compress the entire time the engine runs and the cam spins

A compressed spring with the follower off is a sign of a bent valve.

Why do you suggest the evo beehives?

We'll I'm going to try to through the 3G lifters and some new valve springs in it and see what happens. Thank to everyone for the input!

Grab a pair of dial calipers and measure the base circle of the cams.

It should be around 1.180, if it is .040-.060 or more smaller, you would have reground cams and need to shim the HLAs
