i have a valve tic my car has 184000 what could it be??? should i have my head rebuilt, and if i do should i have my engine rebuilt too???

How loud is the clicking? Are you sure its in you valve train? If its a soft clicking it may just be your injectors...

Sure its not the lifter ticking? Its very common on these cars and most just ignore it as its not a serious problem. Search for lifter tick or knock.

Mine does it when I first crank it, but goes away after it warms up.

. Your replies always make me crack up. OP, most lifter tick goes away in higher rpms. Change your oil to something a little thicker and see if it still persists. YOu may have a bad bearing if it gets louder. Take a video if possible.

you could always switch to revised lifters it will git rid of all the ticking if it is the lifters

Well, I'm not sure why that one would.

Use a section of vacuum hose a couple feet long, put one end to your ear and start scanning around the engine with the other end, see if you can track down the source of the noise with it.

it goes away after about ten minutes of normal operating temp..

That would more than likely be lfter tick. Best thing to do is install the revised 3g lifters.

I know that Glowshift sells a cool lil oil pressure sending unit that just screws onto where the oil filter does, then you filter onto it. makes installation pretty easy.

is there just a place on the engine i can tap into i dont really have the funds to buy much more for my car at this moment
