Valve guide question

Im rebuilding my engine and i pulled the head it had a few bent valve so im replacing the valve stem seals and was curious if there was a way i could check the valve guides to see if okay to make sure theyre not cracked or anything like that, does anyone know of a way i can check them at home? any info would be great! Thanks

Take the bent valves out and visually inspect the guide.

Valve guides are cheap you should just buy new ones if you had bent valves. It would save you a headache down the road but thats just my opinion.

i took all the valves out and put new ones in and without the valve springs there is very very little side to side movement, they dont look smooched or anything, i just dont want like jayson said there to be a problem accruing

Pull them out and roll them across your kitchen table to check for warp and play. Plug the ends up with little vacuum caps and drop them in water to see if they have cracks, you will see bubbles from the air pocket inside. Older tricks that work for me....

Keep in mind if you remove the guides and install new ones the valve seats will need to be cut.
