valve guide question

do i need to upgrade valve guides if going with oversized valves??? head is in machine shop as we speak so feedback would be greatly appreciated... uhh delta 272's and dual springs tit. retainers.... if any of that matters

If there is "play" in your valves or if there is a lot of wear on the head you may want to consider having the guides changed. The fact that your installing oversized valve should not matter as long as the valve stems are the same diameter. If the guides that are in the head currently are not worn there should be no need to change them out unless you want to install a different type of valve guide.

If your asking if you should upgrade to bronze valve guides depending on your HP goals i dont think they are necessary oem valve guide as long as they are not worn they will be sufficient they are made from a chilled cast iron and are very strong in stock form.

You don't need to, but if the head is being reworked at a machine shop why not replace the guides while you're there?
