I have a big problem, last summer I had a stock head repaired because of leaking valve seal and worn valve guides ( intake side I beleve, dont remember) . I"ve bolted it to the short block and used it for about 2000 miles then took it off the road for a diffrent setup:thumb:..I have gathered a hole bunch of parts and all I have left to do is put duel springs and retainors in.

I bought a new supertech kit which comes with valve seal also. We decide to do the intake side first and everything goes well and good . I move on to the exhaust side and then me and my friend relize there is a problem :banghead:. One of the exshaust guides is not pushed in enough causing the retanoir to hit the valve seal and chew it up.... im stuck here.. is there a special tool to push in valve guides?? What should I do?, I really don't want to remove the head because it will set me back..

If you look in the port on the left the valve guide is there but on the right is isen't.. And you can clearly see from the top that there not that much left of the valve seal..

Pic links fixed.

...and yes, that guide is definitely coming out of the head. Look at the oil and excess carbon around that specific port- this isn't something that happened overnight.

Sorry for bad news. This looks to be more serious than a sealing issue. It takes ALOT of force to move a properly installed guide (about 8000lbs is my guess) Your issue could be one of two things:

1. Aluminum hole was damaged when guide was pressed in. Result - improper press-fit (not likely the problem)
2. guide was not reamed properly. Result - hot-expanded valvestem locks to the guide and pushes it out.

I wouldn't try anything with the head on the block. If someone else did the work for you, give them a call because this shouldn't happen.

The quick fix is buying another head and swapping it out, because the fix for your current head is likely not a one-day fix. You could pound the guide in with an air hammer (and proper attachement) however this is treating a symptom, not the root cause.

Again, buy a used head for $150-200, a new head gasket (or clean & re-use a metal one) and swap it out. Check your piston top for contact with the valve.

yeah there is no way you will get that right without taking the head to a machine shop the reason i say this because I had a similar issue and just for the heck of it I took to it with a hammer and ended up damaging my head.OMG
