Ok, now i have a cracked valve guide where the valve broke off in cylinder one. Its cracked on the side like a straight line. What could be the dangers of driving with it like that. If i have to replace it then im going to get rid of the car.

It could do nothing. Or it could break off, wreck your head and piston, and then go through the turbine of the turbo.

Well it just cracked on the sides..I dont think(pray it didnt) crack all the way up

It can also change the clearance between the stem and the ID of the guide. If this happens you run the risk of building heat and sticking the valve in the guide. You should replace the guides or run the risk of another boom-boom.

It may be okay now, but it WILL spread. And when it does, it will pinch the valve stem because the guide is pressed into the head.

I just replaced all my exhaust valves and bent 2 intake valves. I just replaced the intake valves and now when i install the camshaft the intake valves move from the head. None of them are bent, could my springs be out of whack or what??? Or should i say they dont seat properly after the have been extended by the cam lobe??

Did you bleed the lifters?

Why are you bending valves?

no i didnt bleed the lifters. my car jumped timing because i didnt torque the tensioner pulley bolt down and bent some valves. Now all the valves are replaced and none of them are bent. but when i put the head on and timed the engine when i turn it clockwise i hear a poping noise and its coming from my springs. so i pulled the head again and thats what i found.

So if i understand this correctly, the springs are popping, and the valves do not seal with the cams installed?

where the valves bent when you first pulled the head? If so, the head should have been pressure tested and the stems checked then. WHy did you replace all the ex. valves?

How far are the valves protruding into the combustion chamber (how far away from sealing) when the cam is off the lobe?

Just a little

I replaced the ex valves because all of them were bent. I didnt torque the tensioner pulley all the way.
