I have an Injen air intake, which has a line that runs to the valve cover, but I recently read that its a good idea to install a catch can so that oil doesn't make its way into my air intake. Well I plan on buying an oil catch can and installing it, but I heard some people just plug off the air intake line and put a breather filter on the valve cover. What do you guys suggest?

i did the same but ran a tube down to the frame and drilled a small hole in the top if a tiny air brather thn wire tied mesh over the whole

Well I think I'm gonna go with an oil catch can then, I don't wanna have to change a filter all the time. LOL, no offense aj7266 but I can't understand the 2nd half of your sentence.

Couple more questions guys, does an oil catch can greatly reduce the breather flow to the valve cover? and how much airflow am I losing to the intake by having it branch off to the breather line, nothing significant right?

The issue isn't as significant in an N/T car (you don't have an intercooler to coke). You wont lose any airflow with anything that you do between the valvecover and the intake. The breather system uses the vacuum found in the intake tube to pull air out and ventilate the crankcase. Putting a filter on the side of the VC is fine but it will make an oily mess in your engine bay.

The solution that I have used is to get a fuel filter designed for small engines. They are clear and consist of just two nipples and a filter element in clear plastic. Cut the line between the VC and intake and insert the filter which costs about $2. On my car it seems like it starts to get dirty (but not get clogged) at about 3500 miles or so.
