No, it will not fit. Plus it's not worth it. It'd be the equivelent of putting a 4g63 in a non-turbo DSM. Just work with what you've got or sell & get something better.

Actually I saw an Eclipse with a 4G72 installed init but it did require an INCREDIBLE amount of custom work and probably a sh*t load of money too but it is possible. IMO - if you have the money to do something like that just get the 3000GT VR-4 and put it on a diet it would be cheaper and more reliable.

Ideally I think it would be awesome to drop a 6A12 in an Eclipse and turbo that just because you could, and in the states that would be a rare swap at that!

There is NO WAY a 6G72 would fit into a 1G. The 4G63 has a hard enough time as it is. It would be a cool swap, it just isn't possible w/o massive modification to the engine bay.

That's what i said a few posts up. I've seen it buy the guy spent so much money to get it in there that it wasn't even worth it.

there is a 95 eclipse gs with a blown engine for sale for 700. I found a 2003 v6 engine for sale with harness and brain for 800. Will this engine fit in a 95 gs? will it be hard? or will it just hook up? any advice or help will be GREATLY appreciated because i dont know much about this stuff.

Hum i would think if you dont know much about this then the odds are if you take it anywhere they will notice you dont know much and even if this is an easy sawp which i dont htink it would be they will charge you out the ass for the labor. If your looking to spend that much get a 1g awd and your set.

I'm going to have to say no it wont drop right in. They are completely different cars and I don't see how an extra 2 cylinders are going to fit in our engine bay. Also those engines are crap, the 4G63 is a much better engine. But with enough $$ you can do anything.

Don't do it. Find yourself a 1G turbo engine and use that. It will be the same hp. and it should be much easier. Somebody correct me if im wrong but I believe you wouldn't have to change the motormounts. Even if you do, the 1G head is better flowing, therefore you would beat other stock 2Gs. IMO it would be better to have a true DSM, than a dsm body with an engine from a 3rd Gen Eclipse which isn't a DSM.

On the other hand, you could buy both, if you had the money, get your car running and when you have some spare time, twin turbo the V6 then figure a way to swap the engine and then sell the 1st Gen engine. That would be a little extreme though. This is also assuming you have the wrench time and experience to know to do it...

He cant just drop in a 4g63 he has a 95gs n/a eclipse so neither the 4g63 nor the 3g motor would just drop in your car.

i'd recomend finding a 3.0 dohc from a 3000gt or stealth. I don't think there is enough room to do it though.

Ya I see what your saying about the fitment.... So I could fit a 1G motor in my car without any modification? I want a turboed engine..... got any good sites with everything i would need for a swap out? What about the computer... would i need to buy a new one? im new at this but i have another question. If the GS isnt awd and i put in a awd motor.... Wont i need more thana motor to make it awd? yall guys are awesome for all the feedback
