OK I am going to install my afpr tomorrow it requires teflon to seal the fittings. Should I use the white teflon tape that came in the kit or the pink teflon tape that I just got from home depot??

I went looking for yellow teflon tape, but they didnt have any. The pink teflon tape that I bought said its rate to 100 psi, used for gasoline, petroleum oils, natural gases, butane, and propane.

Which one should I use the white one or the pink teflon tape??

Not to totally throw a kink into your plans... but I've always like to use Teflon Paste. I've always used it and It seems like to be the best to me - on every fitting - vacuum, oil, fuel. Anything.

Just an idea. :thumb: :dsm:

You shouldn't have to use any teflon tape on a Aeromotive AFPR, unless you didn't get AN- fittings.

I've heard from many people that yellow is the only gasoline safe one to use (and all ACE hardware stores carry it, none of the other ones seem to), but B&M includes white tape in their fuel pressure gauge kits, so go figure. I've had my B&M gauge on my car for years and no leakage or problems (like the supposed clogged injectors some people predict from using white tape).

Not true, some of the aeromotive fpr use npt fittings instead of -AN. While -AN don't use pipe sealent, NPT does. Now also even the -AN regulators have a NPT fitting for the gauge port & vacuum/pressure port, which need to be sealed. Not to mention the adjusting screw should also be sealed as it has a parallel thread & more often then not is a source for a boost leak. With that said I wouldn't use tape period, pipe dope is better, see here:
