I have a 2 year old Aeromotive 13301 AFPR. The Nordskog digital fuel pressure sending unit I had screwed into one of the auxiliary ports took a dump. It was giving high pressure readings and would get stuck under boost.
I put a mechanical fuel pressure gauge with a hose in one of the other ports and ran it outside of the car so I could watch the pressure as I drove. The gauge is smooth as glass in vacuum but flutters quickly by about 10 psi under boost. The average of the flutter looks to be a 1:1 ratio. The guage is one I picked up from a parts store (nothing fancy).
Is flutter under boost the nature of the Aeromotive AFPR, or is does my mechanical gauge have very little damping? I would like to get some input before buying a new guage.
