using dsmlink to pass emissions?

i believe they do the sniffer and the car that ia m getting is pretty modded out like alot

would turining the boost down to like 5 psi help? LOL

Nope.

If you have good closed loop operation (fuel trims are good, proper operating PCV proper operating o2) and you're running stock cams and a cat, you could very well pass the sniffer test fine.

Even though you are OBDII compatible they don't hook anything up in a '95 or older vehicle in NY. Even if you have a check engine light on, you should still pass. Mine was passed with mine on. The only reason why you shouldn't pass is because you don't have a cat. If you have a pipe in place of the cat then you might get away with saying its a hiflow cat. That's what I do. If they don't pass me I just go to a different place. You shouldn't have to pay unless you pass either. If you have a downpipe that is longer and just replaces the cat, you might have to put on your stock downpipe and cat for the inspection then just swap it back after. Good luck!

I have never had anybody use the sniffer anywhere in ny. I've had my car for a few years now and the only problems I've run into was with my straight pipe where the cat should be.

Sums it up right here.

I'm in CALI with a 95, and yes 95s are not required for OBDII checks. So you already dodged one big bullet there. Another big bullet we dodge is since its AWD, no dyno, meaning no/little load, which means no building up boost. So your question about asking to lower the boost is not relevant in this situation..

If you have the proper deadtime and global values in DSMLink, and your fuel pressure is in check, you should pass no problem. Check that your fuel trims are in check. The fuel settings in DSMLink are for WOT only, so it should not matter.

So then comes visual, if they are super anal, go somewhere else. If they aren't too big on visuals, just make sure you have a cat. As for the idling of the cams, you have dsmlink, raise the idle so its steady.

If you have a cat, make sure to heat it up, run the car hard before you go in.

If you don't pass, something else is wrong.. and you might have to result in putting additives.

Thats not true, it all depends on the state. I failed with stock cams, NEW cat, and stock injectors, and stock ECU. NoVa is REAL anal.

I think the problem might have been a failed 02 sensor, but I got around it buy registering the car in another area.

I'm in california guys, one if not the worse state ever to have a modified vehicle.

I passed several times, 50trim, walboro 190, denso 660s, 3" turboback w/cat, stock cams.

There are others I have encountered with more severe mods than me and passed as well. I'm talking 1000cc injectors FP cams, walboro 255, dsmlink, etc.

If you are failing, as stated already, check sensors and all other emissions equipment. Of course we go to a smog place where visual is not too strict.

If we get sent to the state ref.. well.. we're screwed.

See we're trying to say that it doesn't really matter the mods. As long as you have a good closed loop tune and an up-to-par cat.

If you're idling rich, or have blowby, or don't have a properly functioning EGR, or bad o2 sensor or bad maf or don't have a cat; then there could definately be a problem passing emissions.
