I haven't decided yet for sure weather I am going to use my 6 bolt or rebuild my 7 bolt but either way Im using '95 pistons. What I need to know is: Do I at all have to modify the 1g 7bolt in order to use the higher compression '95 pistons?

you don't have to modify the block at all in either case. the key is that if you use 6 bolt rods "big rods" you have to get them machined to fit the higher compression pistons "2nd gen pistons". but you don't have to machine the 7 bolt rods.
