im looking to install an act 2100 but money is real real tight

ive already got the clutch disk and mitsu TOB so im all set just need to find the act2100 pp

got a member here willing to sell me one with 5K miles on it

now my question is does a used pressure plate have any possible issues?

as long as the splines are good is this worth even putting in my car?

do i have to worry about the surface the clutch disk mates up with?

Just make sure the surface of the PP is not too scored or pitted and is smooth and that the fingers are in good condition and not bent or damaged, usually the splines are ok. Though it is recommended to get your flywheel stepped when you get a new clutch and keep the old wheel, some guys have gotten away with it.

so im looking for bent fingers and irregularties on the surface its self

ok sounds good

thx

the Previous Owner thought it be a good idea to go to the track and do 6 passes all in a row launching the stock clutch every time on my 95 awd gsx

so im pretty positive, and after many months of questions and looking for answers, that the clutch disk in there was glazed over and or the pressure plate has damaged fingers or the heat straight up distroyed the pressure plate -- i cant hold more then 7psi of boost in 3rd 4th or 5th a

the car is slightly modified but will not be seeing over 300hsp or torque ever,,, its a great winter car and pushing it past that will make it hard to drive in the winter

so i want the act2100 for more holding pressure (322) torque is what ive read the thing can handle

I currently am using an act2100 street disk, resurfaced flywheel, and a used clutch masters hd pressure plate. (Bastard setup) Works perfect. Also check for "hot spots" where the disc has spots that are purpleish in color. I LIGHTLY hand sanded the used pressure plate with 400 grit paper, to get rid of the hot spots mine had. Been running it for about 20k miles now and am very happy with the performance.

ok sounds good, will i need to step my flywheel when i resurface it if im planning on just putting a mitsubishi clutch disk back in there?

There are no splines on a pressure plate.

Just make sure all of the wear and the heat marks are even. And make sure there isn't any heavy heat marks that could have caused it to warp.

PM sent.

i meant fingers when i said splines, ha ha my bad

and thx for the info
