used 6 bolt block, oil pump seized, what to check for?

Check to see if it has an ebay BS delete kit. More than likely the cause of a seizure today. Look for hot spots on the crank and block. Look in the cylinders to see how bad the scarring is. Check to see if it has been decked before. If it has already been decked I would just forget about it. If you need to deck it again it might be too low.

You should probably take it to a machine shop to be checked over. Have it completely checked before you waste a ton of time on a worn out block.

When i got my block i just tore it down and rebult it, and had the block decked. Crank polished, new bearings, thats about it, oh yeah bse.
