ok i did my 1.8 to 2.0 turbo swap, but i used the 1.8 5 speed tranny. i used a 2.0 n/t flywheel, and an oem equivilant clutch kit. i know the clutch is smaller than a turbo. i dont plan on getting a turbo tranny anytime soon. the n/t trannies are easier to find. i like the low gear ratio of the n/t tranny.

i do want to get an upgraded clutch kit and i was wondering about using like an act 2600 pressure plate with a stock disk? i did some searching and it seems alot of ppl do use a stock disk with an upgraded pressure plate. any input or experience with this kinda set up?

Some people do it. ACT doesn't recommend it, though.

I would have to say nothin quite beats a stock OEM clutch in terms of lasting.....but its designed for a stock car....if ya go to the TRE(www.teamripengineering.com)the gods of DSM trannys....they say something like do to the step hight of the ACT flywheel specs and the disk that has to be run with it...do not run an ACT clutch pressure plate with a stock disc cause it will always drag on the flywheel between shifts causing fast syncro wear(meaning the clutch will not be fully disengaing and be dragging and slipping against the flywheel).......LOL as in how long will a PROPERLY installed ACT 2600 clutch will last?........well my friends 91 eagle talon tsi with get this a technomotive ECU with a 4500 rpm stutterbox launched on the street god knows how many times,100 passes at the track, driven twice a week to work and back 100 miles, pushin 400 at the wheels, lasted 2 years and 30,000 miles before the disk had to be changed.oh and you can reuse the pressure plate too...its pricy at around $400 with shipping but its worth it......just a thought for ya:thumb:
