i like the ACT2600 pressure plate but not too fond of the street disc cause of the problems with springs popping out (i've had it happen twice to me and a buddy of mine once). i know the stock disc isn't suppose to be used with the 2600 but what about the sbr disc? anyone have some pics of it? better quality maybe? any other suggestions? when i put my new motor and tranny in, i really don't wanna have to pull it......again. thanks!

I and others have used a stock disc with a 2600 plate for a long time. I have no idea about the SBR, but as far as the spring popping problem, which I've had myself with an ACT street disc, I'd say the stock Mitsu disc is at least as good if not better than the 2600 one. Maybe the ACT material holds more power, don't know, but most people aren't making enough power to worry about that problem anyway.

Nate from SBR told me that a ACT 2900pressure plate with a SBR 4000 series clutch disc would be great for me... or to call ACT and have them make me a 3200.

he said he has done this for some other customers and they loved it.

wondering what the best disc would be. maybe stock will work okay if you're not putting down a lot of power but i plan on doing just that. already hearing of some people having problems with the sbr disc (not sure if it'd be an install error or what though) so now i dunno about using that disc. wanting an organic disc cause i want the smooth gradual engagement.

i know i wanna get an ACT2600 pp cause i already know what the pedal pressure is like and i love it. just debating on the dsic. clutch masters? centerforce? stock? something else? what disc are you guys running with ACT and how's it working for you? this is aimed towards those using something OTHER than the ACT disc guys. thanks!

It might be good to clarify what your definition of "a lot" is. Plenty of full-weight, 11-second cars out there using a 2600 and stock disc. I can't think of anyone who's said there's much difference at all between a stock disc and the 2600 street disc for holding power. Maybe there is, maybe there isn't. Dunno.

Used the ACT discs, and SBR Kevlar discs, and they both last pretty much the same amount of time (2 months, 3 months max). I shred these discs like cheese and I rarely launch the car (maybe 4 or 5 times the entire disc life).

Am looking into getting a full faced iron disc (like SBR 4000) soon. Hopefully then I'll stop replacing clutches 3 times faster than brake pads. :notgood:

okay, well i plan to put down a good amount of power. building a 2.3l stroker with groden aluminum rods, ross pistons, knife edged stroker crank, frh manifold, shep tranny, etc. already have the usual stuff. dejon i/c, injectors, pump, fidanza flywheel, atr exhaust, FP2 cams, etc. etc. etc.

plan on using the 2600 but what clutch? hmmm.....my biggest debate cause i'm sick of pulling my tranny.
