I can buy dsmlink v2 used with original box for $300. If I pay $175 to upgrade to v3, aren't I basically getting ecmlink v3 for $475, or is there something I am missing?
thanks

I don't about the original person who bought it and registered it has anything to do with it, but if you're free on that it looks like you don't have a problem.

Although, I'd say a V2 is good enough for you base on your profile. You cannot really extensive do much to gain hp or work with the speed density or anything else that the V3 offers over the V2. Furthermore you has to know how to tune it yourself. This isn't as simple as tuning your car on an AFC.

Cool, so it looks like i'll be spending $475 instead of $595, and the only difference is that I'll have to use someone else's username on the forums.

V3 can not do SD as of yet, but they are working on it i believe

SD is still in the making, but definently going to be incorporated. As far as upgrading, as long as the extra 175 isnt that big of a deal I would just transfer and upgrade, but thats my personal tastes, you could get away without upgrading though

This is just my luck, it happens with everything in my life from tvs, to cell phones, ect... Whenever i buy somethng, a few months later a new and improved model comes out ( this is why i love my GSX, we all know the new eclipses will NEVER be as good as our 1g's and 2g's ) ANYWAYS; last year i finally bought dsm link, i used it this past race season - then durning this winter... V3 comes out...

My debate is should i even upgrade? - ive looked over the dsmlink site many times and read it word for word and im not seeing the reason to upgrade yet... am i missing something? it looks like all they did was upgrade the cable to USB ( which i did to my current V2 ) allowed it to stream info faster, and changed the layout of the program... is this worth 175 bucks????? :hmm:

If anyone can point out why v3 is so much better, please let me know.

Well if you want to run a GM MAF you get a better value by buying their cable instead of the translator.
Upgrade+cable = 250 which may be more than a translator, but you still get the other benefits of the upgrade.

I see no point in upgrading until the SD is relesed. As it sits now you can use V3 program on your V2. Then you can get the hang of the new look and if and when SD is out if you want to then do your upgrade.:thumb: I will say the V3 look is alot nicer and the new right click for the TPS adj. and the MAF is really nice and saves alot of time.:rocks:

Ended up buying it for $175 because it has a broken pin. ECMtuning said they would upgrade it no problem.
Looks like I'm getting ECMlink for $350:cool:

Where are you guys getting V2 at? I don't have a need for V3 but I definitely want Link. I checked the ECMtuning site but can't find anything for V2.
