Well I guess It's time I posted about this, I'm stumped...

After a headgasket change and a two year rest, the car gets on the road this fall. To clear some of the stuff up, It was my father's car who passed away and left it to me, hence the two year wait. He was complaining of this problem before he got sick, and he thought it was water in the gas. Reasoning for this is it felt like it, and dry gas clears it up. He blamed Hess and got the tank drained. They found no water, and the problems continued. This fall I got it back on the road, and I was trying to take it easy for a while. When I finally started opening it up, the problem re-occured. Here are the symptoms...Completely random, but seems to be most of the time under heavy accleration. A bottle of dry gas and a fresh tank of fuel makes it dissapear or go down to nothing. Feels like water in the gas, the car is stumbling and tripping over itself. Things I will be checking are wires and the fuel filter. I've replaced the plugs. Could be timing, but I changed the belt with the headgasket, and it would be a real coincidence if it was messed up twice... Also I've thought maybe ignition timing. And the stock computer blew out this fall once I got the car back on the road, which seems normal after those notorious capacators sat for two years...
Thats it, any help would be greatly appreciated

Do as you're planning and get new plug wires. Also make sure the plugs are gapped correctly. What boost level are you running? Did you replace the ECU and/or capacitors?

New NGK's were gapped to spec.

How would I go about checking my fuel pressure? get a guage and hook it up?

And I'm currenty running stock boost. Also I checked for boost leaks, and theres nothing major

I might get one of those fuel pressure guages...
By the way, this is the second computer, my stock Eprom leaked of course...its sitting on my futon waiting for funds to repair it. The problem occured on both ECU's though
