When was the last time you changed or checked spark plugs?

Cheers,

i changed my spark plugs about two months ago i didn't think to pull them out and check them...i will look into that and see if its just that

is there any thing else that could be doing this?

I failed to mention that a "backfire" in the exhaust suggests an exhaust leak or a lean condition where there is enough air to support further combustion. You can try having someone hold a wet rag with a stick in the exhaust to increase the back pressure to look for leaks. In difficult areas such as the exhaust manifold you can use a "listening hose" to better pinpoint the source, it also may take increased rpm to get the needed pressure.

GTM

you know it could be that i did just change the manifold to block gasket not that long ago maybe there are a few other leaks as well

sounds like a timing problem. the car is misfiring. check the timing.

Do you want to explain your theory how this would cause these complaints??
