Underdrive pulleys [ merged 1/6/07]

Worth it or not? I'm thinking of going with the AEM tru-power pulley kit. Anyone used them?

well yeah one crank but I want to upgrade to aluminum ps, wp, and alternator pulleys and also are you worried about crank walk or do you think you are okay

I think im going to buy the AFX Crank, and then OBX power steering and alternator pulleys then thats my pulley system will be done. and maybe fix my belt shredding problem from my ac compressor.

I've yet to see a complete set of pulleys for the 2gnt. Also, the 2gnt's are not known for having crankwalk like the 4g63's. The water pump is timing belt driven and not accessory belt driven so these pulleys will have no affect on the water pump.

I just orderd my AFX crank hope its good i will let you guys know how it is when i get it installed. I now need to find the OBX pulleys I see them on their site but cant find them to purchase?

I cannot find a place to buy my OBX overdrive pulley set. If any one knows where i can go let me know. Or if there are any other companies that make them for our 420a engine? only respond if you are postivie because i know aem makes pulleys and unorthodox but not for our specific engine.

No one makes a pulley kit for the 420a, just a UDP. AF/X and UD offer them for the 420a.

now that we have the all the Pulley experts gathered in this thread,who can tell me what would wpork on my 2g 4g63 nt Eurospec...a pulley set from a 1g 4g63 nt,1g 4g63 T or 2g 4g63 t??????

i have a UDP already,works fine,but i wantr a Alternator pulley and W/P pulley...is there a difference in Alternator pulleys from the 4g63 powered 1g and 2g? any difference to turbo models?

You have such a unique set-up that you're going to have a tough time getting that question answered. Have you checked with other DSMTuners that are in Europe as well to see what they found?

Guys OBX makes a power steering pulley and alternator pulley for us but I have looked around and found this one shop and they are out of them until the end of next month but they do have them!

cheap to only 85$ for the two! I am still looking because i orderd my crank and it should be here in a couple days but i want the other pulleys to go with it also. I want to do i tall at the same time.

I would make very certain that these pullies will fit the 2gnt. I do see that the part numbers are different. But the pictures (which frequently are a one size fits are) show the 6 crankshaft pulleys and no pulleys for the alt, p/s, a/c. I recomend calling them and asking for clarification of exactly what you're getting.

If you're getting an entire pulley set for all the pulleys then great, let everyone know that a company out there makes them. I know alot of people will be interested. But if you're only getting one pulley then you will be pretty upset.

what if that one pulley is the crank? will i still be upset? were u happy with your AFX UDP? cause i just ordered mine a couple days ago and its scheduled to arrive tomarrow... well actually today if you want to get technical. were u happy wiht the gains or not?

The UDP for the crank is a good upgrade. You can feel a nice improvement throughout the entire RPM range. Don't sweat it if you only get one pulley. It will be less work anyways.

The OBX pulleys do fit our cars I called the manufacture direct and talked to them, becuase i couldnt belive it myself. I got the afx crank orderd and I will put that on when i get it and then once they get the OBX pulleys in stock I will get them to add to my set. If all works well I will let everybody know we finally have an option for a set and not just the crank. Even though this set is only the power steerign and alternator but whatever.

yea if you get them let us know what the difference feels like with only the UDP and with all of them on, if there is a good improvement for 80 bucks i thong a lot of people here would be interested in it.

Yeah but it turns out the pulleys are on back order for about a month so when I get them I will deff post it.

You cant just say OBX sucks with out a reason....I never say a product sucks unless I have tried it myself...Everyone told me OBX Header sucks..it works just as good as my greddy does

you've got a point. honestly, i do not have any obx products on my car based on what other people say about their products.

The only problem is parts are not cheap so we kind of have to take it for the truth when people say it sucks...That's why I like to hear from people who do not have a bias opinion towards a product..I like to see the pro's and cons of the product compared to some other brands...lucky for me there is more then 1 dsm in the family so we kind of get to see which product is better...as far as UDP's go My dad made his own has his own has his own shop with all the tools he will ever need....Myself I like to buy products from companies with warranties...

dunno the price on the obx one, but the afx udp is only $140. i have mine sitting in my room right now cause my damn stock pulley wouldnt come off but ill let you know how the gains are
