I know a lot of companies that used to make aftermarket parts for the 420a have fazed them out but I thought it wouldn't be difficult to find an underdrive pulley. Can't find an unorthodox or afx anywhere. Any suggestions (besides sell it and get a turbo). :D

Tried a few different searches on ebay and couldn't come up with anything there either.

I found an unorthodox racing crank pulley from 2kracing but they couldn't tell me what belt to use. They thought it was the stock belt. Does anyone know?

underdrive pulley will weaken your charging system. better off staying with stock pullieys

Found the info I needed. Unorthodox Racing sent me a pdf with installation instructions and belt sizes I need.

Just for future reference, if they hadn't been able to send you that information, you can measure the length of the belt you need by wrapping a string along the belt route around the pulleys. Then bring the stock belt along with that measurement to your local parts store and they ought to be able to find the correct shorter belt to use with the UDP. There's a little room for adjustment, so the belt can be slightly longer or shorter than what you measured.

BTW, post part numbers if you can to help other people in this situation. Thanks!

I ended up getting screwed by 2kracing. I called them to verify they had the pulley in stock. The guy I talked to put me on hold for a few minutes and then came back and said they did. I went ahead and ordered it from them online.
I then went ahead and ordered the belts from another vendor. I didn't get an order verification from 2kracing so I called them the next day. Talked to the owner, he told me they didn't have it in stock and couldn't get one. Couldn't cancel the belts so I was stuck with those (or so I thought).
I then placed a WTB ad on here and while I was waiting for responses I stumbled across one on ebay and purchased it.
"Dsmcrzy" responded to my ad a day or so later letting me know that Modern Performance has them for the 2000-2005 Neon, part #221118. I did contact Modern Performance and they verified it would fit the Eclipse.
The belts I used were (alternator) Continental 4040320- 32.75" and (p/s-a/c) Continental 4050490-49.50".

I received mine yesterday and got it installed today.

Hope this info helps anyone looking to do this mod.

You and me both, it's been frustrating. :banghead: These things are really hard to find. Almost impossible to find if you look for the Eclipse one. Thanks to Dsmcrzy for passing the Dodge Neon info on.

You're welcome buddy. Glad you got it figured out.

I thought the unorthodox availability was too good to be true. Those are a rare piece for the 420a now a days.

Yeah, definitely too good to be true. Mine is a knockoff of the unorthodox model. Suppose to be balanced. No belt squealing (yet anyway). We'll see how it holds up.

Good to know. If the one I bought doesn't hold up, at least I know I can always get one from modern performance.
