Twisted my driveshaft like a straw!!!

I didn't even know they made 1 piece drive shafts.

C/F 1 piece. Don't recall off the top of my head right now (It's 4:20 in the morning here) who makes them, but they've been around for years. Shep used to run one, Jake (top-street) runs one, others too...

ACPT <--- IIRC

What about the aluminum one piece?
Which way did it twist, say the trans locked up, it would twist one way, if the rear end locked up it would have went the other.
Was it both pieces that twisted?

Finally some pics of my driveshaft I loved so much. I will be removing the t-case to see whats up, then have the carrier bearing mount cut out of a donor car and reweld it back up so I can put a stock shaft back in.

I think thats just the one that replaces the 2 pieces and reuses one of the stockers. I also dont have $800 to spend on a driveshaft. The stock driveshaft has ran 700whp no problem.

Yeah I called them and that's what they said. I give the guy credit he was really honest. In a nut shell he said it would be worth chanig driveshafts but that the axles were kinda overkill for 99.9% of people. I wonder how the 2g's get away with having 1 pieces and we dont:notgood:

Jay weren't you the one that went off road with your car a month or two ago? The reason I ask is something looks like it pinched the driveshaft and I was wondering if it could of been caused by the off roading event.

Yes I was the one that had the off road event and I checked the driveshaft. It looked fine, but Im starting to think the carrier bearing was bent and caused it to be unbalanced or something. It does look like it was pinched, but I dont remember seeing that when I looked under my car after the wreck. Im hoping I just need to replace the shaft and call it good, but we will see.

Off road FTL......

so did we figure out if yours is custom or stock ?

Since i have one also im guessing its not a custom piece, I also know a guy that has a 4 bolt with a 2 piece driveshaft, in fact we thought my stock 3 bolt 3 piece was out of the norm.ROFL

Well I had Keven, Jacks bro at jacktransmissions.com bend out the carrier bearings and rebend the body back as much as possible. He had to reweld up some brackets and put a stock three piece shaft back in for support. Seems to be holding up pretty good and glad they could save my car for not to much of a charge. It was pretty much totaled.

Turned out from the wreck I just had an unbalanced shaft and it ripped the carrier bearing right out and caused the shaft to break in half some how. But its running again and I just hope the welds hold up.
