My turn signals wont work.... fuse is good, flasher is new. The 4 ways work but you have to hold the button for them to stay on. whats the problem? also, my running lights and my headlights are working, so somewhat ruling out the combination switch...thanks!

This is an odd one but, you have to have a good hazard flasher switch in order for your blinkers to work. They're all tied into the same circuit. I found this out when I was test driving my car with the center console out (trying different ecu's, don't ask) so the hazard switch, a/c button etc. weren't hooked up. I tried my blinkers and while they would light up, they would not flash off and on like normal. I tried the fuse, flasher module, new bulbs, everything but then decided I would just have to work it manually until I could figure it out later. I plugged in the hazard switch to check if it worked and Voila, problem solved.

The reason I know your hazard switch is bad is because you have to hold it in for it to flash. It should be a touch once, on, touch again, off setup. Good news is they're everywhere and cheap.

Yeah, check the hazard switch. I originally swapped that whole bracket because for some reason I was rear wiper button delete... har har, what a funny thing for someone to have done. But the hazard switch was bad and I had to hold it in... so screw that, wound up switching just that one button back out for my original.

It's not the flasher module that's bad (well maybe it is), it's more than likely the actual switch that you press to activate them. If it doesn't click into place, it's bad. If it clicks into place and only lights the lamps but doesn't flash, THEN it's your flasher module. Sorry I wasn't more clear in the previous post, I hope it doesn't cause you to over buy parts. A flasher module isn't too expensive but every nickle counts with a DSM.

ha, no problem man, i have to order the flasher:( its on graveyard for $5 though. the combination switch clicks into place, and returns to normal, just no lights... so im hopin its just the hazard flasher. by the flash, you guys are refering to the button itself right? just to be clear.

Ok now your getting confusing. What happens to the turn signal lamps (on the outside of car, front and back, left and right individually) when you do the following:

1) Push in (on) the hazard switch.

and then after turning the hazards off.

2) Operate the turn signal stalk on your driving column for first Left turn and then Right turn.

Again, what are each individual lamp doing? Lighting up, not lighting up, staying lit, or flashing? What happens when you press the brake pedal? Do those lamps operate as they should as well or do they not light up either?

I'm trying to determine what exactly is wrong. It may be a burned bulb filament OR a bad ground if the bulbs aren't lighting up at all. Depends on what you're experiencing. Also, why a used flasher module? New one is around $10-15 and you have it now.

Do that test and we should know what's wrong exactly.

When i push the hazards, they work, all 4 flash normally, but only if i hold the button. If i release the button they turn off. They dont stay on themselfs like they should. Now for the individual turn signals, left, No dash light, no lights outside of the car. Same for the right. But the switch/lever stays in the position, and returns to the middle like it normally would, just minus the lights. Brake lights work fine.hope this is clearer:) its confusing to explain it all LOL. btw i figured it would be difficult to find the module, i called all the parts stores today and couldnt get one. ill call the dealer tomorrow though.

Okay, if all 4 lights flash when you hold the button in, then it's not you flasher module (relay), it's the actual switch that you are pushing that is bad and needs replaced for one thing. Even with that switch removed, your turn lights should light up, just not flash. Did you go outside the car and verify that all 4 were flashing while someone held the button in (or vice versa)? Even if you had a bad bulb, you should get some sort of light from the other turn signal (same side, just opposite end of the car). My car in particular has a weak spring on one of the sockets and when it looses contact with the bulb, the other light flashes real fast, but it flashes. For your hazards to light up and your turn signals to not light up on the instrument panel OR outside your car, indicates (no pun) that you have another problem somewhere else as well. Replace the switch first, you need it anyways, then start looking for a loose connection in your steering column. You didn't recently install a turbo timer or anything did you?

I had a problem recently where my front right turn signal had stopped working on my 1g. I changed bulbs and changed bulbs an that did nothing. I borrowed a working turn signal socket from a friend and that did nothing. I was playing with it and I realized that if you wiggle it a certain way it would work. There was a lot of dirt in the wire harness side of the plug so I pulled the wires out of the plug, cleaned out the dust with a paper towel on a precision screw driver, sanded up the connector on the wire end and haven't had any problems since. Something you could check.

Hope this helps!

*Edit - I just read this some more and on mine the rear turn signal was still working as was the dash light, it was just blinking fast so maybe you problem is more involved then just dirty wires.

Yeah all 4 bulbs flash normally when the 4 way button is being held in. I did install a radio a few weeks ago, so i unhooked it and i had nothing still. Im ordering the button from graveyard, its $5, dealer wants $62! im willing to take the chance of the one from graveyard to not work, or i might just hunt for a 1g in a junkyard around here and get it. ill start messing with all that other fun stuff if this doesnt work.

I wouldn't worry about getting a bad part from graveyard, they have a reputation to uphold. I am a little worried that the lamps don't light at all with the turn signal, you may want to check on the price for a replacement stalk (used).

I think you're off by a decimal place there... I just did a search and found a new hazard switch for a 90-94 eclipse for about ~$26.00 plus shipping at my favorite site (Which ironically IS a stealership)
Worst case is around $70 at the worst stealerships.

That's for new, not rebuilt or used. A lot of parts are expensive but that's why there are search engines!

was fooling around with the turn signals. Pulled the fuse, and hit the harzards, they still worked. does this mean anything?

Pulled which fuse? What still worked and exactly how did they work? There's a couple thousand miles between us and I can't tell...

Pulled the turn signal fuse, and when i held the hazard button all four signals still flashed. do you think this means anything? saturday im going to get the hazard switch, and going to pick up a turn signal combo switch if i can.
