turbonetics wastegate, but its creeping

hello, i just bought a 1g wit small 16g turbo, 3 inch all the way back exhuast, o2 housing and much more, but it has a turbonetics waste gate, with no boost controller, the guy i bought it from said the spring let out at 12 psi

so i drove it home from phx which was about 100 miles, and it was boostin 12 psi perfectly and i got on it a few times, when i get back in town i drive around a bit more, and notice that its boostin about 8 psi and creeps up to maybe 11.

i tried searching, and i tried google'ing it, but i cant find anything

also i noticed a slight humming sound coming from my exhuast

Sounds like it was fine for a while at 12psi then a leak developed and dropped down to 8psi. As the over all flow increases, it over powers the leak and tries to bring it back up to 12psi. Boost leak test first and post back.

i drove it to the movies today, when i first started it up i waremd it up, then took off, and in 2nd it boosted fine to 12psi, and it was doing fine for a while, then i noticed when i got closer the movies it was creeping again, but it only does it in the higher gears, could it just be gear related, its just taking longer to spool in higher gears?

and also on the drive home i pushed it a bit, and it boosted fine and i was in 2nd gear

ima have one of the mechanics at work take a look at it, he knows alot about turbocharged cars

Where is the wastegate mounted? On the manifold or on the O2 housing?
