ok, my question is this, how dificult is it to install a turbo onto a 99 eclipse rs? is the gs-t setup the same as far engine mounting? i have a 95 talon tsi and the entire intake is different, do they make an exhaust setup to allow for a turbo? or am i just s.o.l. on this idea?

First of all it is a totaly different engine. Turbo= 4g63 N/t= 420a

Im not to up to date on the difficulty of making a non turbo....turbo...but you might check out the tuning guide for more info on go fast mods...and hahnracecraft.com for turbo kits

basically you need to do one of two things get a hrc turbo kit or make your own whitch can be difficult. first the things you need a turbo mani., intercooler, pipes, turbo, RRFPR, injectors, downpipe, and a few misc. things. to do think you will have to have exstesive turbo knowlage to do this custom. i have only done it one time on my friends neon and we both know our way around a car and then some. from past exsperience i probably wouldtn do it again i would just buy the kit. if you have to ask you probably cant pull it off so just buy the kit and take it to a shop you trust and have them put it in then dyno tune so it doesnt blow.

From what i head it's intermediate the install. Am planing on doing the same to my first car a 97 rs just for fun . :talon:

Just my opinion -- It's not worth turbocharging your 420a.

You're going to spend upwards of $2000 on a kit just to push around 9psi. Why do that when you can find yourself a 6-bolt 4g63 with SO MUCH more potential and even have money left over, probably for more modding?

As far as installing the turbo kit on your N/A, it might be easy enough for someone who isn't the most savvy with engines, but why not do some work, learn about your car, and drop in that beasty 4g63? You can keep your black door handles and be an ultimate sleeper ;)

Moved the N/T turbo conversion forum.

This has probably been discussed many times so I suggest a little research.

Hahn claims it takes about 11 hours with some mechanics type experience. Some say its taken a whole weekend some say its been 9-15 hours. At least thats what I read on the other forums. And as for people saying its cheaper and better to just by the turb car already think of it this way. I got my Talon for 2,000 I'll put about 3500 into the turbo kit and I'm running pretty good. Its cheaper for me that way but its my car and prices so yeah .

If you are suggesting a 4g63 swap instead of a turbo kit for the 420a you are really looking to spend a lot of money and do a lot of work. Yes it can be done but I don't think it is for the faint of heart or small of wallet.

#### that swap dude build the 420a HELLO 420a block supports more HP than the 4g63 and has no one is flipping out about crankwalk on the 420a. I already discussed this my car is running 5psi and im dominating once i get internals its over. Total cost for RS+turbo+internals 5G's

iowaboostin its not even worth it to swap, if you want a 4g63 turbo car just sell ur whole RS eclipse or GS and go out and buy the GSX or GST. Youd proble save more doing that LOL.

I'd have to disagree with this. BUT..im sure youve heard what i was going to say.

what do you disagree about ?

If your talking about the block supporting more HP it does, Its the internals that dont support the HP and the amazing high backpressure that throws out rods and than all hell breaks loose. Im talking about just hte block itself, ive seen 400hp RS eclipse's in person and i hear people have had them up even higher than that.

If the 420a block can hold 400 hp and the 4g63 cant, then why is it that the 4g63 tuning guide on this site gives you a step by step modification list for 400hp (stage 2) and never mentions any kind of internals or block reinforcement? Or are they intentionally trying to destroy our motors? your call.
