Turbo will no longer make boost

So my turbo will no longer make boost and just makes a loud whinning noise. I have a friend drive it on a 4-5 hour trip and the next day it wouldnt shift. We just installed a prothane tranny mount to get the dsm to shift but did not replace the other ones. We replaced the other ones and it shifted fine but the turbo will no longer make boost. The engine side mount was completely torn apart and just fell to peices when taken out. The turbo is a 16g and has about 30thousand miles on it. Before my friend drove it was working just fine and he said that when he got there he let the car idle for a while. Could exsesive vibration cause the turbo to go out or any idea on why it wont work. I took the wastgate arm of and tied a wire to it so it would be closed and it still did the samething. I took my turbosmart boost gauge off and still the same. It would just make a really loud whinning noise and not create any boost, the gauge would not go above -10 vacuum. The engine drives fine no studdering or anything just drives like normal asparated 4 cylinder. Help!!!!!

Your turbo is blown. Replace it.

Did you do a boost leak test already? Check your turbo for shaft play? Im pretty sure that you have a big boost leak somewhere. My car was like this when I first got it.

Yes, it not only sounds like a boost leak but a BIG boost leak. You can hear the leak...
The issue is finding out where it is, and if its the turbo thats leaking then it will need to be dealt with.

Might want to look into getting a turbo rebuild kit if you are up to the task. The best thing is to check for shaft play first as already suggested. Boost leak testers are a great thing to help you on the ever-so-daunting task of finding boost leak.
